Where did the BIG EIGHT come from?

The big eight are eight of the required California Standards that my students showed me that they needed assistance learning. I evaluated and did an item analysis on Star practice tests. These were items where almost all students did not answer correctly.

How are you using the BIG EIGHT?

I am systematically teaching these skills to my students. I will give a link to lessons or worksheets as we strive to master each standard.

WIll the BIG EIGHT change?

Perhaps. As I use sample Star tests as a standard assessment tool, I may come up with more areas where students need instruction.
